The show

Two things start at once, and neither one waits

Starting a company and bringing a baby into the world ask the same things of a man at the same time. Uncertainty. Pressure. More information than anyone can sort through. Responsibility that does not pause for the other half of your life.

This podcast is about doing both well. Raising a family with love, joy, presence, safety and security. Growing a company that makes something beautiful, serves the world, and leaves a legacy beyond the man who built it.

  1. 01What nobody tells you about the first year of either one.
  2. 02Presence at home when the company needs everything.
  3. 03Building something worth handing to the kids you are raising.

Your host

Andrew Kaluza

For two years, I helped grow a national pickleball league for founders and executives. I took it from one city and expanded it into 17 markets and more than 1,500 members.

It was ambitious, energizing and a lot of fun. Most importantly, it showed me the power of bringing founders together outside of work — not simply to network, but to build genuine relationships.

First-time fathers

The baby is here or on the way, and every answer online contradicts the last one.

02

Founders mid-build

The company is growing and it wants every hour you have, including the ones you promised at home.

03

Men doing both

Father first, founder second — and looking for other men who take that order seriously.
